July 5, 2023 Instagram launched Threads. Where the Instagram platform itself is (traditionally) set up for sharing images, Threads focuses on sharing text. In 500 characters you can share your thoughts, ideas or opinions with the world. Hey, that sounds familiar.
Immediately after its launch,
A 10 million people checked out Threads . A few days later, the counter was already at 100 million users. It is also very easy to become a ‘member’. With one click you can create an account, based on your Instagram profile. And with another click you follow everyone on Threads that you also follow on Instagram. The apps are therefore closely linked.
Of course, it’s super smart of Meta to build a look-a-like platform at a time when X isn’t doing 7 types of linkable assets & best practices for creating them so well. And because Instagram is already so popular, Threads is piggybacking on that success.

Available in Europe
Within Europe, we were not able to use this app until December 14, 2023. This is due to stricter legislation in Europe, which Threads china numbers does not (yet) comply with. For example, it should be possible to use only the Threads app, without having an Instagram account. You should also be able to view Threads, without creating an account.
