Get people talking about you. Blogs geographically close to you will surely find them; they can become an excellent driver – perhaps one of the most effective – to advertise an event (as long as it has a strong value and appeal to a geolocalized audience).
Contact them and invite them: a free ticket for the event or some facilitation can help you “engage them” for the occasion, in exchange for an article and relative diffusion on Social. How to find them? Here are some collections of blogs:
Local online newspapers (and not just digital ones) are often looking for news about a certain geographical area and it is not always easy to fill the “agenda setting”.
You can try to write a press release online (see here how to write a press release ) and send it to them. Obviously, try to find a right “editorial slant” to the news, avoiding the advertising one.
Social Influencer / Creator / Blogger
Influencers, creators, bloggers can help you communicate an event in a strategic way about your city. You can find more or less influential band database people (even local ones) on social media – like Instagram and TikTok – by searching for the #hashtag of your location or the topic of your interest . #Padova, #Bologna, #Ragusa, #Cagliari… You will find people to interact with: it is up to your imagination to find a way to engage them and let them know about your event…
6. Gomry
Gomry is a very particular and complete tool for managing the various aspects of an event or multiple events (but also of a community): it allows you to manage registrations and payments , requests for information , but also to provide a “command platform” for the organizing members , manage sponsors , have a constantly updated database, send communications.
The tool is founded by Italians, even if it is presented entirely in English, being based in the United States.
A hashtag embedded in your blog
If you have created a hashtag for the event (for example #greenparty), you need to convey it and make it known before, during and after how to make an offer the event. Embed – or incorporate – a # in your blog, perhaps in the sidebar, is a simple operation even for those who do not know HTML very well, thanks to tools like EmbedFeed .
Go to sources, choose Instagram, select the desired hashtag and create the widget code to copy-paste in a text area for html of your site or blog (typically in sidebar).
8. Tool: Happenings
There are several tools, today I will limit myself to mentioning Happings , which allows an interactive view of events in real time on the Google map.
Publishing your event is free, ranging from various categories (cultural, folklore, tourism, but also commercial). The “geolocal” dimension is combined with the “when” the event is held.
Custom Audiences on Facebook Events
Facebook can certainly be a useful tool, especially in its advertising platform, which is full of elements in favor of those who need to promote mobile list events online.
Here you can create custom user audiences (we talked about them here: 12 tips to get the most out of Facebook Ads ). They are made up of people who have already interacted with your events in the past on a specific Facebook fan page you own (i.e. they have put “I’m interested”, “I’ll attend”, or have commented).
In case of repeated events over time, Facebook Event Custom Audiences become an absolutely essential tool to activate.
