Today I want to try to tell – tiptoeing – what it means to work with social media ! hiding a bit of my personal experience between the lines.
Professionals or not! it is a good job! dynamic! that can be ascribed to that category of web jobs or intellectual jobs! to use sociological macro-categories! detached from physical and static activities.
A correct interpretation! but partial. But what work can be done on social media and what skills must a professional who aspires to work with social networks develop? I’ll talk about it in this article.

Working with social media is dynamic and can be very satisfying.

It is understandable why more and more companies and brands are investing in this sector! looking for suitable professionals for social media strategy and management .
But not all social media work is the same . It requires different skills! from creating exciting and engaging content to managing the community.
That is why there are professionals specialized in various tasks. Among these:
- Communications Manager : deals with the global communication strategy of a company! both in terms of communication and brand. Depending on the company! this figure may coincide with the marketing manager (or also include activities that have to do with marketing.)
- Social media manager : manages and/or coordinates all social networks. Facebook! Instagram! TikTok! LinkedIn! YouTube! Pinterest…
- Content creator : creates engaging and captivating content for people. We usually talk about freelancers or even influencers/creators that companies can collaborate with to increase their target audience.
Community Manager :
- controls the digital community linked to a brand or business! managing comments! monitoring public conversations! sending messages or resolving any crises linked to a communication error.
- Copywriter : writes texts for online and social media to achieve specific objectives (engagement! conversions! interactions! etc.) and to increase visibility .
- Digital PR : dedicated to building and maintaining the brand’s public image through collaboration with external figures (external blogs and sites! creators! etc.).
- Video editor : a figure specialized other articles you might like: in creating video content to be published on different channels (respecting different standards and dimensions for each channel). A must have for social media !
- Social Ads Specialist : someone who takes care of configuring and managing advertising campaigns on various social networks ( Meta Ads first and foremost !).
Many of these figures! as mentioned! can be grouped together: often those who deal with Social and communication are Social Media Managers! Copywriters! Content Creators and Community Managers (sometimes they also follow the Social Ads part).

Working with social networks is certainly mobile list the desire of many! since we are talking about a creative job that moves a large part of the (post)modern knowledge economy.
